Bangladesh Hefazat-e-Islam has called a morning-evening strike on Sunday (March 26th) over the deaths of people in protests, rallies and clashes against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Several sources at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and police headquarters confirmed that special instructions were given in this regard from the police headquarters on Saturday (March 26) evening.
The directive also asked police personnel working in different districts of the country, including the DMP, to remain vigilant in case of an attack on the police in view of the ongoing movement.
According to sources, separate meetings were held at the police and RAB headquarters to ensure law and order in the wake of the strike called by Hefazat-e-Islam. From there, the officers and members deployed at the field level have been asked to ensure their own safety as well as to be in a strict position to protect the life and property of the country
